when I put on the boxing mittens, I always feel a little like StrongBad:

naptime

"Did I fall asleep?"

Nap 1 of the sleep study is over and done with. I don't even remember falling asleep, but I think I must have because they ended the nap after about 15-20 minutes, and I think they can only do that if I've gone through all my sleep cycles.

Now I'm killing time, trying to not fall asleep before the next prescribed nap.

sleep aids

We just know that you will do well
You won't come to harm.

Aleve has helped my back--now it just feels Regular sore, not Bad sore. I went to boxing twice despite not being able to walk properly, and while some of the abs exercises and reaching up for the speed bag were bad news, I actually felt a lot better punching the heavy bag.

Tonight is the sleep study I have. I maybe have already invalidated results by taking naps today, which they said not to do. But when you have boxing at 8am, it's hard to keep moving all day. I took a fantastic bath, and have given away half my stuff on Craigslist, and returned library books, and gotten my SIM card activated, and purchased eye drops at a great discount, cleaned the litter boxes, scrubbed lots of surfaces, charged the vaccuum cleaner, ran the dishwasher, did a bit of light stalking, and none of this took as long as I expected it to. So when Sigur Ros came on iTunes, and Ladybird nestled down into my lap....snoozers, to quote Brad Neely.

Trying to trick myself into eating by going places like Whole Foods for eggs. I did get some chocolate pudding at least, which makes me feel like less of a freak for not desperately craving sugar all the time anymore. Another boring list for you, of my WF purchases: a peach, cherries, goat's milk kefir, flour, rockfish, oil.

You should read Arcadia's perfectly valid criticisms of Ponyo, but I hope it doesn't make you enjoy the utter delight of Ponyo herself any less.

I left my phone on the bus. Sucks.

Had a nice trip to LA, with my mom and brother bickering the whole way, and the over-full car of stuff threatening to decapitate one of us at every wrong turn (of which there were many). Woo hoo. But I got to see Tabby and Rita, so that made it worthwhile.

Sorry I can't seem to update lately.

He's a mad man!
A MAAAAD MAN!!
Had a productive day at work. At home, not so much. I did manage to eat that tuna salad. Nice going, me! But there's still a lot to be done.

Another Futurama quote: "Who needs courage when you have a gun?"

I'm having a madwoman freakout....gotta go shower and sleep, and edit blog entries.

the nothing

The heavy hitters and the chichi music
all on your radio

I am slowly, slowly deleting my old posts as I archive them to my computer. I have had this blog for a long while. It's tedious going, but I want to make sure I record all your comments along with the post because the comments are usually the best part (hint, hint).

I spent today writing letters. I only have the addresses for 4 people, though. The rest of the packages will probably stagnate for months before the others get around to sending me their contact information. Their loss. These letters are awesome!

They are about: how I'm probably going to foster a golden retriever soon. And about my job. And about life plans. And about my boxing lessons. But I managed to make it all interesting, unlike here, where I'm just listing. Because I'm tired. From writing letters. And I can only manage sentences and fragments of a few words long. And I have a radio show in 5 hours. And I want to punch through the ceiling like a Superman in a hurry! But instead of going to the point of action, I just keep going up, up and away.

I watched Wizard People, Dear Reader with some friends today. Many of them were nonplussed for most parts, but some of them enjoyed it. Then we played a Harry Potter trivia game. My team partner kept asking things like "Is the last Harry Potter book out yet?" Clearly, I was the heavy hitter on my team.
