holy crap!!

I'm working with a lot of statistics at my job. Every once in a while, some of them make my jaw drop.
  • Every 10 minutes, a teen in Texas gets pregnant.

With 24,000,000 in Texas and 5-7% female teens, 51,000 pregnancies are ~10% of that, right?

1 in 10 female teens pregnant doesn't sound all that high. Or is it? But I guess those %s increase as it does take 9 months of gestation.

What's weird is while there is a pretty high rate of abortion, the number of births is also every 10 minutes. I don't know how THAT works. That seems to be a mistake. It's just amazing to think that many babies are born just to teenagers alone, and then to think about how the US population is still declining.

A nurse and a lactation consultant thought that Leigh was a teenager. Does that count for anything?

that counts for...kind of funny, I think. Little Leigh!

And every ten minutes, a married 30-year-old discovers that, despite impeccable nutrition, a loving relationship, and tracking her ovulation cycle . . . she is still not pregnant.
